Based out of Oakville Ontario, Jump Moon is an indie rock band formed in 2015 by lead drummer Mourad Iskander and former singer Dimo Jobe. The band’s first EP, titled "Broken Dreams”, was recorded at Metal Works in Mississauga, which featured Pierre El-Serafy as lead guitarist, and was released to the public on September twenty-fourth of the following year. Sadly, however, after the EP was recorded the band suffered a loss in the departure of El-Serafy because of his renewed interest in academics. As such, musical activity did not carry forward after the EP was released because of his absence. It wasn’t until the beginning of 2017 that the band was able to introduce Erick Chavez as the new lead guitarist of Jump Moon, whose enrollment prompted the members to commence working on what would become their first full-length album.
Unlike their previous work, Jump Moon was determined to create a quality album that could be marketed at a professional level. Having paired up with musical producer Ryan Switzer, his partnership with the band allowed for the production of what would become Jump Moon’s debut album, “Paranormal Activity.” The album—consisting of eight tracks—was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Massive Tank Studios located in Oakville Ontario. With production falling just short of seven months to complete, “Paranormal Activity” became accessible for the public on March 27, 2018. Yet once more, and unfortunately for its members, the release of the new album saw lead singer Dimo Jobe also having to withdrawal from the band to pursue his academic endeavors as well.
Even so, the remaining band members continued to see potential in the album they had created. A resolve to fill the vacant position with a new lead singer arose, and with the much higher quality of work Jump Moon was now offering, the band was able to find a replacement vocalist in almost no time at all. A few short weeks after the band began searching, Mohammed Mansour would step in as the lead vocalist during a live performance that the band would plan for later in the spring.
April 22, 2018 saw this take place, where Jump Moon launched their CD release party with the first live performance of “Paranormal Activity” to a full audience at Oakville’s Moonshine Café. The band currently aims to reach as much success as they can following their album’s release.
